Story

The Salvation Army Hadleigh Farm Estate will be participating in the CarolAlong on Saturday 1st December 2018 at 11am by live streaming O Come All Ye Faithful on Facebook Live as we kick off our Christmas Fayre with a festive bang. We will be raising funds for the important work carried out across the Hadleigh Farm Estate which incorporates Hadleigh Training Centre, Hadleigh Tea Rooms, Rare Breeds Centre and the Hub Cafe and Sensory Rooms as well as a Mission team which delivers faith based activities across the Estate.

Hadleigh Training Centre was established in 1990 and provides training for adults with additional support needs in a range of skill areas from horticulture, construction, catering, cycle maintenance, IT and functional skills.

Hadleigh Tea Rooms opened in 2001 and is open to the public serving food and refreshments. With scenic views overlooking Hadleigh Castle and the Thames Estuary, the Tea Rooms provide a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere. Trainees from Hadleigh Training Centre assist in the Tea Rooms, gaining experience in areas such as food preparation and customer service.

The Rare Breeds Centre opened in 2004 and is proud to be an RBST and LEAF Education member working to conserve the UK's rare native breeds. Trainees from Hadleigh Training Centre assist on the Farm, gaining experience in areas such as animal welfare and farm maintenance. The Rare Breeds Centre is open to the public from March-October.

The Hub Cafe and Sensory Rooms opened in 2012 and are situated on the site of the London 2012 Olympic Mountain Biking event in Hadleigh Park. Since then, Essex County Council have been working in partnership with The Salvation Army to deliver a world class accessible sports facility and welcome hub and create a sustainable future for Hadleigh Park by encouraging the local community to be more active and engage with the environment. The Sensory Rooms are designed to stimulate the senses through light, sound and touch.

The Hadleigh Farm Estate Christmas Fayre will take place on Saturday 1st December from 11am-3pm. Find us at Hadleigh Farm, Castle Lane, Benfleet, SS7 2AP.
