We support people living in Hertfordshire to improve their mental health & wellbeing

Story

“We won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect

This is the mission statement of the Hertfordshire mind charity group.

HHCC (Hemel Hempstead Community and conversation)
is a Hemel based FB community group. Each year at Christmas its members get together to raise money for a local charity.

This year, we have chosen The HMN.

The HMN deliver essential mental health support in Hertfordshire, providing a diverse range of services from our seven Wellbeing Centres and other venues across all ten districts of the county. Funded locally, our services are available to all residents in Hertfordshire over the age of 18 and we offer dedicated services for 10-18 year olds.

They create opportunities for individuals experiencing mental
ill health to make choices, find their solutions, build resilience and manage their whole life and wellbeing. Our services are based on the principle of self-help with a strong emphasis on prevention, personal development, self-management and improving health and wellbeing.

The HMN provide opportunities for individuals to access support
to enable them to recover from or live with mental ill health.

Hereare some Questions for you:

  • Has HHCC ever generated business\work for you?
  • Ever received a good recommendation from somebody on the group and your business has
    benefited from that?
  • Ever used a trade’s person that was recommended by HHCC and you were pleased with
    the service?
  • Ever found out useful information, that saved you time and possibly money?
  • Ever lost a pet, or a possession that has been found and returned by somebody on the
    group?
  • Ever found yourself this time of year thinking that instead of sending Christmas
cards, you would like to donate to a local charity?
  • Ever argued with somebody who has a different opinion to you on the group?
  • Ever wondered when your bins were going to be collected or what the best Chinese
    take away is?
  • Are you one of those people who don’t send Xmas cards, but say “I will give some money to charity instead” (I know that I am!)

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, the please give a little back by donating to this year’s HHCC HMN charity page.

I have set a target of £500 to be raised by Christmas day, it would be great if we could make that, and even better if we could better it.

Have one less Costa this week, don’t go large on your McDonalds, don’t send Xmas cards, Don’t vote this week on IACGMOOH or Strictly and the money you save can go to this great and much needed cause.

Thank you from all of us at HHCC x
