Story
Escaping to nature and green spaces became more important than ever to maintain our mental well being during one year and more of lockdown. HAE is eager to give something in return by supporting national conservation work where we can.
The UK National Trust is Europe's largest conservation charity but saw its 125th anniversary struggling to survive and so invited everyone to join a national fundraising campaign with “125 Initiatives”. HAE have chosen to support them to coincide with the launching of our environmental policy.
To kick start this initiative Ilona Dane will be cycling 125 km on the Vennbahn, one of the longest bicycle paths in Europe to promote our HAE’s environmental commitment. Ilona will be completing this challenge over 3 days, 13 - 15 August. In support of Ilona & The National Trust her colleagues will pledge their own '125 initiatives over the 3 days that she is cycling. Our target is to raise £2500! if we can achieve this figure through sponsorship and donations The National Trust will plant 500 trees for us ...............that is equivalent to one football pitch of new woodland!!!
