Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Those of you who know me, understand my passion for helping children and young people and how I have fostered many over the years.  I have taken on many personal and physical challenge's.  This is to raise funds for the Rees Foundation.   The Foundation has been set up to support all care leavers who need help and guidance once they have left care in the UK.

NOW I am preparing for another trek......Kilimanjaro, Africa, Mad??? Yes..... I know!!

In February 2015 myself and a group of 18 daring FCA foster carers, staff and care leavers will undertake a huge personal challenge to complete a sponsored walk up Kilimanjaro and raise vital funds for the Rees Foundation.

Have a few friends over for a fundraising get together and enjoy a ‘bap’ and a brew.
How does it work? It’s simple!!
With a donation of £3 each, we can raise a huge amount of money to help people with care experience!

The most innovative and imaginative picture that is uploaded onto the dedicated event page will be in with a chance to win a weekend break at the amazing Treberfedd Farm in Mid Wales. This can be fancy dress, a group photo or your most amazing bap filling ever?? www.treberfedd.co.uk (terms to win, you must upload your picture onto this page, with a donation made)

Recently in the BBC news it was commented, was a ‘Charity Challenge’ a Trek or a Treat?  My reply to that is…. ‘Let them experience our terrifying road trip with sheer cliff drops off the roadside.  Walk for 2 days in torrential rain and then walk UP over 3000 steps in 1 day.  Watch our team mates need oxygen, mule rides, and have sickness and diarrhoea on the mountain side.....just to name a few 'challenges' and then ask if we enjoyed our 'holiday'!  But, I have to say YES, I loved every minute of it’.

Machu Picchu was just one of the many sponsored walks that I completed in 2014, the first being, Snowdon (Wales) on 5th April.  Followed by a 12 hour walk over 5 Peaks Challenge (Lake District) on 19th April.  This prepared me for the BIG trek which included over 7 days of trekking, walking UP over 3000 steps to my final distination Machu Picchu, Peru!!.  I have also completed an EPIC 140+ mile bikeride from Abergele (North Wales) to Birmingham!! Sore Bottoms all around!!

So please, donate if you can, or come and support me in any of my upcoming fundrasing events.
Message me for any more infomation, it is easy to do and a great way to have a get together.
