At the GSPCA in Guernsey we help rescue, rehome, reunite and rehabilitate more cats than any other species of domestic animals.
Today on World Cat Day we are appealing for donations for a very poorly cat.
Popeye is a one eyed cat that needs a great deal of treatment on his right eye before he can find a forever home.
Popeye is a young male cat that has come into the GSPCA with another cat called Greyson as sadly his owner passed away.
We have been trying to treat his right eye but conventional means appear not to be working so he will need a operatio to help heal and repair his injury.
We would love to rehome these two lovely cats together, but before we can we really need to heal Popeyes eye.
You can donate to help Popeye online through our Paypal page below and reference 'Popeye' or via our Just Giving Page by clicking here.
Helen Sharman Animal Care Assistant and who cares for Popeye said "Popeye the cat is a lovely lad at the GSPCA and with his injured eye he just doesn't seem the happiest cat so we really want to get it better so we can find him a forever home with his friend Greyson."
"We see hundreds of cats come through our doors at the GSPCA every year and we help well over a thousand cats from strays to those cruely treated."
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "It is World Cat Day today and of all species of domestic pets we help more cats than any other."
"Sadly there are 200 to 300 run over every year in Guernsey that we help to those like Popeye that come in, need care, treatment and then find that forever home."
"You may remember Trouble the cat that had cancer in the ears, well he is much better and due to go to a new home."
"Also Trio that was at the GSPCA that needed a leg operation is now in a new home and so is Phoneix the kitten that was cut by the strimmer."
