Story
This year TGB lost a much-loved colleague, Rachel Rollason to Motor Neurone Disease. Rachel and I spent 4 years working together in Customer Services Division and it’s fair to say that Rachel left a lasting impression with me. Her boundless energy and complete devotion to get things done were truly inspiring and she operated on “no limitology” before I had even heard the phrase!
Before Rachel’s untimely passing, I shared with her an idea I had to raise funds for MNDa that was in keeping with Rachel’s spirit of anything being possible! That’s when I decided to take on this challenge;
To ride on a Static Bike for 24 hours in the Street area at our ECO HQ Burgh Heath. (16th/17th November 2022)
Make no mistake, this is going to be a brutal challenge and one which fills me with dread every time I think about it, but at the same time it is one which I am completely focused on completing for Rachel and MNDA. I started this journey as a conversation with Rachel and in her last text message to me, she told me how proud she was of me for taking this challenge on. The truth of it was that she continued to inspire me and made me proud of her. There is no going back now…
So, my plea to you is please support me to play a small part raising funds for MNDA and to help them to keep up the great work they do on their 5 key promises;
1. To make MND treatable and ultimately find a cure.
2. To ensure everyone gets the help they need, when they need it.
3. Make every day with MND count.
4. To ensure people with MND are heard
5. That nobody with MND faces it alone.
I hope you can help me on this journey.
Greg.
