Story
Around 1 in every 60 people in the UK is affected by visual impairment in the UK, although not all of these are registered. This means chances are we all know someone who is affected by sight loss.
Fight for Sight is an amazing charity that helps raise funds for research into eye disease and visual impairment. It's funding has been responsible for some fantastic break throughs, most recently the research into gene therapy into curing choroideraemia: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-15446912
As an optometrist I have a fair amount of experience with vision care and sight loss and so this cause is particularly close to my heart. If anyone can spare a few pennies to sponsor me through this challenge and help raise some much needed dosh for Fight for Sight I would be very grateful.
This is the first time I am doing the carrot walk, but I'm completing it with my more experienced friend Angharad Hobby, who did the 2012 Carrot Walk. We're hoping to complete the course in a faster time than Angharad did previously, but the most important thing is to raise some funds! So if you can donate then we would be extremely grateful!
