Story
Hello!
My name is Grant and I am fundraising for Martlets
I have decided to put my funds through INTO Giving’s “iGive campaign” in order to increase my fundraising. Sound confusing? Let me explain... All INTO employees and students are entitled to put their fundraising through this campaign which will increase the total amount raised by 20%. Sounds good huh? Well it gets better, INTO’s founder will also match my total amount raised for INTO Giving education projects, which effectively increases my fundraising by 120%!
So what does INTO Giving do? INTO Giving projects aim to increase to education for the most disadvantaged youth across the world. Their main focus over the last few years has been on ensuring access to education for girls and refugees; two of the most vulnerable groups in the world today. They currently support 22 projects across 4 continents including in the UK and the USA.

First and foremost I am fundraising for Martlets because Cancer has had a huge effect on my life - my Mum died from it, my Dad, Aunties, Uncles and good friends too – including one very recently.
Other people I know have it and some have recovered from it. Every one of these people are super stars to me - but we’ve all had to have a helping hand somewhere. That’s where the staff at the Martlets Hospice come in.
Having volunteered there I know:
a) how much they do
b) how much they care and importantly
c) how much it costs to continue giving the great care to people with terminal illnesses.
All the funding they get is strictly from donations - for this reason I’m running the Eastbourne Half Marathon on Sunday 3rd March 2019.
Having never been a runner, (and an always fluctuating waistline!) it takes a lot for me to get going. In March 2018 I ran my first Half Marathon (Hastings), for 2019 I signed up for my second.
I set my fundraising target at £500 but I raised over £700 last time for a friend’s cancer treatment. If we can beat that, I’ll try my best to beat my time of 2 hours 23 minutes - You can follow my training progress on Instagram by following #GrantsHalf
If you can, anything will help, and would be greatly appreciated.
