Graham's Challenge For Charity

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
What am I doing and why?
I have set myself a personal challenge of trekking the 440km/275mile Kungsleden in Sweden, which starts at Abisko in the Arctic Circle and finishes at Hemavan. Along the way I will be adding in some of the 'off the track' sights, which will take the trek to approximately 480km/300miles. My intention is to 'wild camp' for the vast majority of the trek, only using local amenities to stock up on food and escape any severe weather.
You can follow my preparation and progress for the trek at www.thesolivagant.com
As well as a personal challenge, I have chosen to do the trek to raise money for the Prospect Hospice. The Prospect Hospice is a organisation that cared for my sister, Nikki Sly, during the final few weeks of her brave battle with cancer.
Why the Prospect Hospice?
Since 1980, Prospect Hospice has provided the only dedicated end-of-life care service for people living in Swindon, Marlborough and north east Wiltshire. They bring care, comfort and confidence, around the clock, every day of the year.
Their aim is to provide excellent, personalised and compassionate care for everyone in the community who is affected by a life-limiting illness. They work in close partnership with other organisations – and specifically with local health and social care professionals – to ensure that anyone can access the best possible care whenever and wherever they need it.
Every penny that we can raise through this “Challenge for charity” will go to the hospice in memory of my sister, Nikki Sly, and will contribute to ensuring that this end-of-life care can continue for others in the community for years to come.
