Story
As many of you know, I am a keen cyclist and like to be as active as possible. This year, I am undertaking a tough challenge to raise funds for MNDA to support the research into this cruel disease. A friend of ours, Alan was unfortunately diagnosed with this 6 years ago and his positive attitude to life shows that although you never know what is around the corner- you can always make the best of life. Of course, MNDA has been in the spotlight more with the terrible story of Rob Burrow and Doddle Weir and the inspirational support of Sir Kev.
My plan is to take on the Fred Whitton (a 112 tour of The Lakes over all the big passes) for the 5th time on May 7th with a target of under 7 hours. Each time I've got closer and at last attempt was 7 hours and 10 mins. Out of the 2000 who take part in this, around 200 make that time.
A week later, on 14th May I will be running my first marathon- The Rob Burrow Marathon in Leeds with the aim of going under 4 hours.
Both will be amazing events, and although this is a personal challenge with good friends, I hope you can support the charity in raising fund for research into this terrible disease.
Its going to be tough, but not as tough as being diagnosed and living with MNDA.
