We are Versus Arthritis to defy the pain & isolation of arthritis

Story

One 10k race...four Semples...one very important charity.

On 5 September 2010 Gordon, Fiona, Ruth and Graeme will take to the streets of Glasgow to raise money for Arthritis Research UK (Tara is the team mascot).

The plan is that the three offspring will take on their 61 year-old father and attempt to beat his time of 45 minutes - given his pedigree as a 3-hour marathon man back in the day it's not looking likely!

The four of us are raising money for Arthritis Research UK - the various forms of the disease affect 10m people in the UK and Mum/Val has rheumatoid arthritis.

Arthritis Research UK funds world class medical research and aims to reduce the the pain and disability resulting from arthritis.

We've decided to ask for donations of £2: the cost of a Sunday paper. If everyone we know donates £2 we'll comfortably exceed our target. Of course, do feel free to donate more than two quid if you'd like to.

Thank you!

Gordon, Fiona, Ruth and Graeme xxx
