My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
There is no need to explain the motivation behind our fundraiser. The loss of big Geoff last year was, and still is, devastating to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. So we're attempting to raise funds to help support charities involved in suicide prevention. On the 27th of July, Robert is running the Australian outback marathon, and on the 7th of September, Graeme is cycling the 126km (80 miles) route of the Giant's Causeway Sportive.
Contact is a charity based at home. Contact, along with their own work, also run the telephone support services for Lifeline. There is a second page running in Australia, set up by Lifeline there, to help raise as much funds as we can.
The people who work for these charities are mostly volunteers, they sacrifice their own personal and family time to help people who have nowhere else to turn. If we can help provide any sort of assistance to help them do their jobs, it makes sense that we should try. We're not asking anyone to break the bank, everything adds up in the end, no matter how small. Also, all donations are tax deductible, so why give your money to the tax man, when it can go somewhere more worthwhile.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks for reading this, and dig deep.
