I’m really excited to tell you that I have been selected to volunteer in Nepal with Raleigh International on an International Citizen Service placement. I will travel to Makwanpur in central Nepal for 10 weeks on the 22nd June, where I will be living with a local rural family. ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help. In 2015 Nepal was affected by a devastating earthquake. Whilst I am there I will be helping the community in three main areas: water, sanitation and hygiene, livelihoods and youth leadership. 

              

The first part of my placement is a challenge to raise £800 towards the work of Raleigh International and their ICS partners. The money raised will go towards enabling the overall costs of ICS, ensuring they can to continue sending youth volunteers to the developing world to make a lasting difference in disadvantaged communities.                      

Amongst other things, I’ll be doing a raffle as one of my fundraising events and you can keep track of how I get on here on my Justgiving page. Any contribution from you will make a real difference to the lives of people in developing countries, so please dig deep!
