Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2008 when I was a trainee teacher, Macmillan fundraisers knocked on my door and asked me to sign up to a monthly direct debit, which I couldn't afford. It was a wrench for me to say no to them as my Grandad John was diagnosed with lung cancer that year and was already receiving really necessary support from Macmillan at the time. I promised myself that when I was able to, I would find a way to support Macmillan and show them my own gratitude for the work they do.
Sadly my wonderful, cantankerous, opinionated grandad died last year, but the work of Macmillan Cancer Support goes on, and now I have the opportunity to say thank you to them, for the difference that they made to my grandad's life, and so also to mine.
All of you will know that I am not the sporty type- unless it's something I can compete in from the comfort of my sofa. Those of you who know me from school will recall that I was in the bottom set for PE, and rightly so! Now, though, I am setting myself a challenge for the New Year, and would love to have your support.
