As a Rights Respecting School we are asking you to help us raise money for Unicef so that they can protect the children of Ukraine.

Gordonbrock School is proud to be a UNICEF Rights Respecting School having achieved the Silver award for the work we do in putting the UN Convention on the Right of the Child (UNCRC) at the heart of the school’s practice.  Article 38 states that “Children have the right to be protected during war.”  With this in mind we are raising money for the UNICEF Ukraine Emergency Appeal.

How UNICEF is helping children in Ukraine

UNICEF has been working tirelessly to keep children safe since this conflict began eight years ago and is determined to remain in Ukraine to reach the most vulnerable children and families.

• UNICEF is helping to provide families with access to clean water and healthy food.
• UNICEF is delivering lifesaving supplies to support families who have been forced to flee and is working closely with local health facilities to ensure they have the vital supplies needed.
• UNICEF is helping to make sure that child protection services continue.
• UNICEF is working with their partners and the UNHCR to assess the refugee situation across neighbouring countries.
• In neighbouring countries UNICEF is delivering Blue Dot safe spaces with their partners, which will provide care and support, information to families seeking refuge, psychosocial support, water and sanitation supplies, safe spaces for mothers and children, protection for unaccompanied and separated children and more.
