Story
Three years ago I began training for a 500km cycle ride due to take place from the Hook of Holland along the Rhine River to Kleinmaischeid in the Westerwald, East of Koblenz. Unfortunately I was involved in a serious cycle accident where I was hospitalised for a time and immobile. Needless to say this trip did not take place (my family would have disowned me if I had attempted to get on a rocking horse let alone a cycle ……before now)
I’m happy (and very fortunate) to say I’m now ‘back in the saddle’ training for the planned trip along the Rhine in September. I am cycling with two good friends and experienced cyclists, Steve Davies and Kay Collins who both live in the Peterborough area.
Sue Ryder is a wonderful charity and having learned £145 could pay for a hospice nurse for a day we wanted to see if we can raise some money for these incredible people. It certainly will mean so much to us knowing we are giving in our own small way and make the tired legs and exhaustion more worthwhile.
We thank you in advance for any donation/support you offer.
Gordon Steve Kay
