Team RSBC are taking on the London Marathon 2020 to ensure blind children can live a life without limits.

Story

Hello everyone,

As most of you may know, my sister, Kaya became visually impaired when she was 15 years old and it has had a huge impact on her life and us as a family.

Fortunately Kaya has dealt with her disability amazingly well and achieved so much since becoming a “VI” person, however, we were not aware of the Royal Society for Blind Children until recently.

The RSBC does such important work for blind children and their families and the money I raise for the marathon will support around 5 children and their families which will make a huge difference to their lives.

If you lose your sight in childhood...

  • You are twice as likely to be bullied
  • 40% do not have a local friend to play with
  • 8 out of 10 will never get meaningful employment or get to share their lives with a partner
  • Many grow up to be lonely and living on the poverty line as a result
  • Each day 4 children are diagnosed with severe vision impairment
Any donation would be much appreciated - thank you!
