CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 10th - 16th May 2021
As a challenge following my 70th birthday on the 16th May I am going to attempt to run 70K in seven days between May 24th - 30th
Six years before I was born Christian Aid began its work standing with the poorest of our neighbours. Today Christian Aid works in 37 countries, with people of all faiths and none, to stand up for dignity, equality, and justice. We stand together with our global neighbours.
The 2021 Christian Aid Week focus is typical of the support offered and work undertaken.
From severe drought to relentless flooding, in Kenya extreme weather robs people of what they need to survive: a reliable source of water. People like Rose are caught in a cycle of climate chaos. When Rose was a child, there was plenty of rain that fell at the right times. It provided ample nutritious food to eat. Now Rose’s community lives with drought and hunger for months at a time. Together, the climate crisis and coronavirus are a double threat to lives and livelihoods. People are struggling to cope. Rose walks many miles every day to access water.
Would you like to encourage me, and raise some much-needed financial help for people like Rose? I do hope so, as I am not only hoping to manage to run 70K in seven days I also hoping to raise £700 so Rose and others like her do not have to walk such distances every day to get safe, clean water.
Together we have the power to transform lives and together we can create a world where everyone can
live.
