Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know the Poppy Appeal is something very close to my heart it’s something I have always supported since a small child, not only that,
my dad, the late David Todd also known as “Toddy“ served in the Scots Guards for many years. He was also Vice President of the Ryde branch Royal British Legion for a short time where he worked so tirelessly on the Poppy appeal in 2017 sacrificing his annual leave to stand outside shop door ways in the wet and cold, travelling back and forth on the Wightlink ferry helping raise money for his fellow service personnel past and present.
For his efforts and contributions he was awarded a trophy for raising the most money single handedly for selling poppies for remembrance and fundraising all year round for the Ryde branch Royal British Legion.
Sadly he was suddenly taken from us and passed away June 16th 2018 during Armed Forces day in Sandown whilst he stood proudly in his regimental beret and tie waiting to march with other veterans.
He was aged just 61.
He is truly missed by myself my mum, family and everyone that knew him, he will certainly always be in all our hearts forever.
So this year in his memory I will be continuing in his legacy and will donate £5 from every oven clean carried out from 24th October - 11th November to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
