Story
I appreciate your time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you probably know, I enjoy a bit of a challenge, and I wanted to do something that I love, but something that will hopefully give something back too.
It's more than 12 years ago now that my dad, Gerry, passed away and almost two years that my uncle Peadar (dad's brother) passed on too. Sadly, they were both affected by cancer, but showed great courage, positivity and determination throughout their battle which, although heart-breaking, is something I greatly admire and feel very proud to have had them as my Dad and my Uncle.
It's important to remain positive and to believe that cancer can be fought and that we can have victories over it. Cancer doesn't win the battle, it just takes. Support like MacMillan offered my Dad and Uncle the care and compassion that was needed during a very challenging time, but more importantly showed that giving support, help and compassion is far better than just taking, which is what cancer does.
If we can have our little victories, you never know, we one day might win the battle!
So, this is my annual nod to Dad (Gerry) and Peadar to say, we still think of you very much and you live on through all of us forever.
Now, where's my bike....
