In March 2009 my daughter, Virginia, was diagnosed with the invisible lifelong condition of Autism. Though she began to regress developmentally a year before my life forever changed when the reason why was confirmed. One of the most difficult things I found was the lack of awareness and understanding of the complexity and variation of the Autistic spectrum and so I began making annual notes on my Facebook which two years ago evolved into a blog,
Ginnybeanasd.blogspot.co.uk, our lives with with our severely autistic child and all of the challenges and joys that we face as a famIly. Over the last few months, due to medical complications and the chaos brought on by them, I took a break from writing. Now that my health has improved I have decided that aside from beginning my entries again I would also like to promote Autism Awareness to raise money for a charity whose resources I found invaluable when Ginny was first diagnosed, the National Autistic Society.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity.
