Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Cliff and I are cycling from Greenwich (London) to Fishguard (Wales) along national cycle route 4, approximately 400 miles. We have given ourselves two weeks to complete the challenge.

We are aiming to try and raise £3000.00 for the Kintbury Community First Responders to buy the defibrillator for the village. Any excess funds raised will go towards additional equipment that may be needed in the future to assist the responders in their role of saving lives.

Community responders are supported and trained by South Central Ambulance Charitable Trust. If you are interested in becoming a Community Responder please either:

Cliff and I returned home on 28th August 2011. We cycled 431 miles in total over 10 days. We set off on 13th August from Greenwich and arrived in Fishguard on 22nd August. We averaged 43 miles a day.

The journey was hard and tiring towards the end but we both enjoyed the challenge. We saw some amazing countryside and scenery. We camped for six out of nine nights, staying in bed and breakfast for the others. The people we met on route were fantastic it restored our faith in man kind they could not have helped us more. We would also like to thank our friends in Kintbury and Gill's family who supported us all the way.

We have had 5 days rest in Wales before returning home.

Please continue to donate we should have raised enough money once all collected to buy the defibrillator which is fantastic. Thank you all for your support and generosity.

Thank you all for your kind donations as you can see with gift aid included we have exceeded our target. Once all monies have been processed Kintbury will own their defibrilator that will be used by the community responders within the village and surounding areas.
