Story
14th October 2009
We have finally collected all the money and have raised a grand total of just over £1200 (not counting gift aid) so thanks again to all our sponsors. The money has been sent to Big C
Isobel and Gill
13th September 2009
Well we made it!! We weren't the largest in the group and we weren't the slowest either!! Isobel swam round in 37:03 and Gill followed her in 38:26 (she is older after all). That made us a very commendable 26th and 32nd for our age/gender group.
It was a beautiful day and a great experience. Thanks so much for supporting our swim and making it all worth while.
The wetsuits are in storage now but come May 2010 they will be back in that open weedy water (assuming we can still squeeze into them). You can tell we are hooked...
Thanks again
Gill and Isobel (please look at the new pictures of our day)
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We're doing the Great North Swim for the Big C charity in September 2009. This is a local cancer charity which does lots of good work for patients with cancer and their families.
We do lots of swimming indoors but outdoors has lots of challenges!
1 we have to get into wet suits
2 we have to swim in straight line
3 we have to ignore weedy bits
4 we have to get out of wet suits
Please support 2 ladies of uncertain age in rubber outfits. More money = more pics (or less pics if you think that's better)
