I'll be running the New York City Marathon on November 6 and then DJ-ing at The Standard, High Line later that evening, for as long as it takes me to finish the marathon.
I hope to raise £5,000, some of which will be used to help musicians devastated by the Louisiana floods this year. The funds will also be used to develop emerging music talent who show excellence and innovation.
Running the marathon in New York is significant for the Foundation as it's Steve Reid's hometown, and where he spent his last days when he passed away from throat cancer in 2010, unable to afford the medical treatment that could've prolonged his life.
The Steve Reid Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that people who have devoted their lives to music get the help they need.
Please donate. Thank you for your generous support.
If you're in New York please come to the post marathon party on Sunday, November 6, from 4pm at Le Bain, The Standard, Highline, 444 West, 13th Street, New York City. For tickets go to www.giantstep.net/stevereidfoundation . Suggested contribution is 10 Dollars. All proceeds go to the Steve Reid Foundation.
