I have been planning to undertake the mammoth challenge of cycling between Lands End and John O'Groats for a few months now.  Initially it was just going to be a personal, fun challenge for Russ Brown and myself, however during 2010 a close friend contracted throat cancer and an old work colleague of mine tragically passed away on Christmas Day after a short battle with bowel cancer.

 

Both these people were, like me, in their mid-forties when they contracted this terrible disease.  Therefore I thought it was time to do something positive, hence this page and I guess the challenge itself, which now seems to have become a lot more important! 

 

The challenge starts on Saturday 14th May 2011 at Lands End and we aim to reach John O'Groats on Monday 30th May, if not before! My target figure to raise is £1100 - about £1 for each mile I'll cover if we successfully complete the challenge.
