We all completed the run, Spiersy in about an hour, Marty (in Eesky's place), 51 mins, JC 52 mins and I was 49 mins. Delighted with funds raised as over £1500 once Gift Aid is added. The reasons for doing run are below.

We're sure you'll agree that the health of your children, nieces or nephews is absolutely priceless! There is nothing more precious than seeing a smiling little face to brighten up your day.

 

We're all doing a 10k to put that smile back on some kids' faces.  You see - sometimes they can lose that smile through pain, being very ill that they may not survive, or sometimes that they just want to have a cuddle from their mum or dad - but as they are in hospital they can't be there the whole time.

 

Yorkhill's Ronald McDonald house does just that - they provide a facility where mums and dads can stay next to their child and be on call at any hour of the night to come and give them a cuddle when they need it.

 

Imagine your child being so ill but you have to go home and can't be near them. It's stressful enough if you have a child who is ill, never mind also having to leave them. Your child being in hospital is every parent's worst nightmare - having to leave them there goes beyond that! These kids parents are just like you - but just incredibly unlucky.

 

Believe it or not - these facilities are not funded by the government. Ronald McDonald house only exists through people like yourself wishing that it is never you in this situation, but who will do a little to help by donating through this page. It costs £300,000 per year to keep this house going, and to keep that smile on a little one's face.

 

Please make them smile and ease the burden on their parents and continue to count yourself so lucky that you never have to make use of the facilities they offer.
