Royal Parks Half Marathon 2013 · 6 October 2013 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Hiyaaa!!!

So as you probably know I had a car accident in January 2012 and broke my pelvis and hip. After spending 4 months on crutches I promised I wouldn’t take being active for granted so I am running a half marathon to celebrate being all fixed and stuff :)

Why the Stroke Association?: When I was recovering, one of my family members suffered a TIA. The Stroke Association offers support for those re-building their lives after suffering a stroke and helping with recovery, so I wanted to run for support of those who are less able to make full recoveries.

This is the first time I have done something to fundraise since I attempted a 'Sponsored Silence' at school (which probably lasted less than an hour) but fear not, this time I can assure you that if you donate it will spur me on to achieve a good time in the half marathon.

Thanks for everything, and if you are free on October 6th why not come to London and poke fun out of a red faced runner (or cheer me on and enjoy the scenery, there will be celebratory drinks after)

Smoochies, Geege xxxx
