George's Memorial Bike Ride on 15/09/2013 · 15 September 2013
Our good friend Nick's nephew George, was born with severe quadriplegic cerebral palsy. George, who needed 24 hour care, was only 9 years old when he sadly lost his battle with cerebral palsy in March last year.
Throughout his life, George and his family had been extremely grateful for the fundraising that had been carried out to help provide George with treatments, care and support that had greatly contributed to his quality of life.
In memory of George, we have decided to take part at this years annual fundraising bike ride - George’s Memorial Bike Ride. It will take place on Sunday 15th September, is approx 52 miles long and we're starting from Bradford-on-Avon to Bristol, and back again, along the Kennet and Avon Canal.
This year's funds will go towards creating a sensory outdoor classroom for George's classmates at the Thomas Wolsey School.
'George's Garden' will allow wheelchair access directly outside the classroom, shelter from wind and rain, and many sensory elements to provide stimulation and pleasure for children with complex disabilities.
