Story
In less than a week, I will be on a plane to Italy to take part in my first ever marathon!
After a grueling four months of training, I will be pounding the streets of Venice for 26.2 miles to raise funds for the amazing Children on the Edge.
I came across Children on the Edge when I saw that they had been chosen as one of 20 projects selected as examples of best practice in refugee education.
They are training Rohingya refugees to provide low profile education to Rohingya refugee children in 45 small classrooms. Their ‘train the trainer’ system has enabled teachers to safely access training so that children can learn in their own language and culture, from familiar people in their own community.
There has been a catastrophic rise of violence and ethnic cleansing in Rakhine State, Myanmar has forced 800,000 Rohingya to Bangladesh, into makeshift refugee camps and local communities.

If you like the idea of supporting a worthy cause AND the thought of me being in excruciating pain as I crawl around Venice then please feel free to donate. Your donation will make it feel like the pain was worthwhile!
Much love,
George
