Story
The Pendragon Community Trust was formed by a group of parents and carers together with other compassionate and committed professionals.
The aims of the Trust, which were originally to establish a village type community in North Yorkshire for adults with more severe learning disabilities, have evolved over the past few years in response to changing needs. Changes in the way services are funded as well as the closure of day centre services, have led the Trust to identify its’ real priority as day service provision, especially for those with more profound learning disabilities.
Last year Pendragon achieved the huge of goal of buying the building where the 'Multi Sensory unit' is to be built and now all we need to do is complete the project buy raising enough to buy all the equipment needed. It is for this very reason we are taking on this immense challenge, we both want to raise as much as we can to complete the build.
It is all too easy to underestimate the sensitivity, the needs, the pleasures and the joys of those with more profound learning difficulties. This fantastic new unit will give so much to these young adults with severe and complex needs.
Thank you for your support.
