Story
Hi, my name is George Morgan, thank you for visiting my JustGiving page. I was born on 8th October 2012 in Queen's Hospital in Romford and due to some complications during the labour I was born with damage to my brain. I have been diagnosed with Severe HIE Grade 3 (Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy), which is a lack of oxygen to my brain at birth.
I spent the first 7 weeks of my life in hospital and unfortunately my condition will stay with me for the rest of my life and I will be spending a lot more time in various Hospitals. None of the Doctors I have seen have been able to tell me what the future holds for me but one thing that is for certain is that life will be far from easy for me and for my family.
Since leaving hospital I have had 16 admissions to hospital, 1 of them required me to be put back on the life support machine. I am prone to chest infections as I am unable to swallow and this often leads to me having fluid on my lungs. I have recently been diagnosed with severe epilepsy, which the doctors are working hard to try and control.
I have extremely high tone in all 4 of my limbs and therefore we would like to raise some money for me to have specialist physio and hydrotherapy to make me more comfortable.
There are lots of different pieces of equipment that are available that would make me not only more comfortable but give me the best chance of reaching my full potential, however these cost lots of money.
Therefore we have set up this JustGiving page to enable all the fabulous people out there that would like to help be able to do so and also it allows us to claim Gift Aid on monies raised.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. Find out more at www.georgemorgan.me.uk
Should we exceed the target amount (or if we do not raise enough funds, or if they cannot be used for any other reason) the funds raised will go to the general funds of Tree of Hope to assist other sick children.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
