George's Thame 10 in 10 page

Thame 10 in 10 · 2 September 2014 to 11 September 2014 ·
On September 2 I will be running the first of 10 consecutive marathons in and around Thame.
Initially, the idea of running 262 miles in 10 days was purely selfish. I am a motivational running, health and fitness coach and realised that it has been too long since I last took on the responsibility of a great challenge.
But I have since decided to use this 10in10 challenge to try to raise £10,000 for local children’s charity Thomley Activity Centre. They are a recreation centre used by young disabled people, their families, and school friends. The centre is based outside Worminghall near Thame and is the only fully accessible facility of its kind within a 35-mile radius
In addition, I am hoping to encourage complete beginners to become confident runners. Each marathon will be run in multiple 5 mile loops from Thame, along the Phoenix Trail to Towersey and back to Thame in an effort to encourage runners of all abilities to join me for part of my journey. Local sporting and health groups are also being encouraged to get involved.
As well as online donations here, I will be asking local companies to support me and demonstrate the important role local businesses have to play in the vibrant community here in Thame.
Throughout the challenge and training before, I will be blogging and keeping a video diary of my progress, the highs and the lows. You can follow me here:
Wish me luck!
