I have been a supporter of the RNLI for many years now and was recently asked if I would be interested in tackling the first ever Northumberland Coastal Challenge Walk in order to raise funds for the RNLI.

The Challenge is a 26 mile walk which starts north of Bamburgh and finishes in Alnmouth. It must be completed within 10 hours. I was a bit dubious at first as it's about 30 years since I walked such a distance in one go but the appeal of the route which follows our beautiful coastline made me reconsider and I decided I would be a fool not to give it a go.

I have done a great deal of walking in my life but have never been sponsored for doing so. There is no obligation to be sponsored for this walk but I thought that since the RNLI had invited me it was only fair that I tried to raise some money for this vital and excellent charity.

Hopefully my friends will dig deep and help me reach my target of £200.
