Jim and I decided a few months ago to embark on a sponsored bike run from Newcastle to Edinburgh. Our chosen charity is one close to home .

Our good friend Martin Clubbs's youngest son, Alex , became seriously ill last year ; Alex is now making good progress. Throughout Alex's stay in hospital the Candlelighters were always there for the Clubbs family.

Sometimes we take for granted the work done by these unsung hero's .This just feels like a good opportunity to help a truly worthy cause.
