Geof's Sea Ventures Travels

Sea Ventures Travels · 10 February 2017
My wife, her sister, brother and myself have all recently
suffered from various forms of cancer in recent years and are grateful for the excellent care and attention we received form McMillan Nurses during treatment and recovery and wish to put something back to help other sufferers.
I have recently retired with a plan to prepare and sail the
refurbished, 50 year old family sailing yacht on short passages around England, Wales and through the Caledonian Canal in Scotland.
It occurred to me this could be a fundraising event to help Macmillan and add another dimension to the trip. The idea is to contact sailing clubs to see if they would be interested in hosting a fundraising event in their club house which could involve a short presentation about the work of Macmillan and the sailing trip. This could be followed by a quiz, game of Bingo, raffle etc. (Any other suggestions welcome).
Sailors will know, planning dates too far ahead will be doomed to failure so I have set up a Blog page http://seaventurestravels.blogspot.co.uk/
to keep people informed of progress. I have also set up this Just Giving
charity fund raising site to send funds directly to Macmillan and keep a
running tally.
Anyone that is interested in joining in any part of the trip
will be welcome and should contact seaventurestravels2017@Gmail.com to get crew signing on and trip joining information.
It is hoped crew will raise some sponsorship to go toward
the fundraising target.
