Story
We did it once. And then we did it again. And now we’re doing it bigger and better than ever before.
Previously, courageous members of Bayer’s General Medicine team have embarked on three incredible international bike ride challenges, raising over £100,000 for local charity Naomi House & Jacksplace. For 2017, with a special focus on teamwork and collaboration, we’re inviting every member of General Medicine from across the country to dig out their sunhats, glitter and wellies and join us for The Gen Med Festival of Fundraising & Try-Athlon in aid of our chosen charity Together For Short
Lives.
The Try-Athlon event is an amazing opportunity for our General Medicine employees to challenge themselves in a bespoke triathlon event, either as a team or an individual competitor. For many of us this is our first triathlon and it’s sure to be a challenging yet rewarding experience for all. So we’re asking for you to show your support by sponsoring our brave try-athletes as they don their wetsuits and running shoes, and hop on their bikes, in aid of a very worthy cause.
Throughout the day we’ll be raising money through all sorts of fun and games at our very own Charity Chalet Village to bring us closer to our target. From this one day of festival fun we’re aiming to reach an ambitious fundraising target of £25,000. But we can’t do it without your help!
At Bayer, we’re committed to improving people’s lives, and that’s why we’re proud
to come together in support of our chosen charity Together For Short Lives.
Did you know that a staggering 49,000 children and young people are living in the UK with life-shortening or life-threatening health conditions? That’s one child in every 270, or one in every school across the UK. The impact of this is enormous, with over 350,000 parents, siblings and wider family affected.
Together For Short Lives is the leading UK charity that speaks out for children and young adults across the country with life-limiting conditions. Their vision is for these individuals and their families to have as fulfilling lives as possible and make the most of their time together, as well as the best end of life care. By putting families at the heart of everything they do, by providing support and information to carers, professionals, specialist children’s palliative care services and children’s hospices, they are making a difference to children’s lives day and night, seven days a week – when and where they need it.
Every penny raised will go towards continuing their great work.
