Nazim's Pre-Ramadan Deployment to Malawi (World’s 3rd Poorest Country)

Story
On the eve of Ramadan (9th April – 21st April 2020) God willing I will be visiting on a SELF-FUNDED (Flights, Food & Accomodation) aid trip to poverty stricken Malawi (Africa) the 3rd Poorest country in the world with the Keighley-based Green Crescent Aid UK (International humanitarian charity).
I will be distributing 42 KG Ramadan Food Parcels (ZAKAT APPLICABLE) to the most needy poor Malawians. Over 50% of the 18 million population live under the international poverty line of £1 per day, 23% of child death cases are related to malnutrition and there is a high death rate due to water-borne diseases, HIV/Aids and general poor health.
In October 2019 I visited Malawi and was shocked by the sheer mass scale of the poverty I witnessed. Families were living in mud built & straw roofed homes, they were walking miles to get clean water, children were visibly malnourished with often no footwear and lack of clothes. homes had very few if any food items.
In Ramadan many of us will be fasting and have an abundance of food with our families. However, in Malawi families will be struggling for food in the sheer heat. Large families are surviving in many cases on 1 meal a day. Please make their Ramadan THAT MUCH EASIER by contributing towards the Food Parcels – the more we RAISE the More we can hand out. No donation is too high and no donation is too small – it all counts!
Each Food Parcel costs £35 which will weigh AT LEAST 42KG and will include the following (WHICH MAY CHANGE DEPENDING ON NEEDS ON THE GROUND):
Rice (10 KG), Maize Flour (10 KG), Sugar (5 KG), Cooking Oil (5 Litres), Beans (5 KG), Salt (2 KG), Ground Nuts (3 KG), Dates (2 KG) 1 Chitinjee (traditional cloth) for the women & Sanitary products.
Green Crescent Aid UK operate on a 100% DONATION POLICY meaning every penny goes to the stated cause.

For over 22 years I have Alhamdulillah been at the forefront of community & humanitarian initiatives at the local, national and international levels receiving national awards in the process. I have distributed in person Aid to the Turkey/Syria border on 7 occasions, the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, Iraqi refugees in war torn Mosul (Iraq), poverty stricked Malawi and to refugees in France & Belgium all in the last 5 years.
