When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running in memory of my wonderful Grandad who sadly passed away after suffering a debilitating stroke, leaving him without speech or movement for weeks.  He was such an active and healthy man who still danced twice a week at the age of 86 and played tennis well into his 80s.  Watching him suffer in the way that he did was the hardest thing I have ever had to do and I hope to be able to raise money to help others who suffer.  I did not realise what an evil thing a stroke is until it happened to my Grandad and I was shocked at how quickly and unexpectedly it took his life when he was such a healthy man.

Please take the time to donate any little you can to help research into stroke so that hopefully one day nobody will have to suffer like my Grandad did.
