Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have taken the opportunity to run the London Marathon in 2015 to help raise funds for Cheshire Young Carers. This is a charity that became close the hearts of my family almost 14 years ago.
From the age of 16 my mum suffered a series of strokes and has been dealing with the after effects from each of them throughout her life. The last stroke my mum had was on the 31st December 2000 which left her partially disabled. Can you imagine what it would be like going to bed one night and waking up the next morning not being able to walk? Well...that's exactly what happened to my mum. Going from being an active, able bodied woman to not being able to walk without support was life changing for my mum but it also changed the lives of my dad, my two sisters and I. We had all become carers to our mum.
That's where Cheshire Young Carers stepped in. My parents found out about the small charity shortly after my mums stroke and decided to take my sisters and I along. They are a local charity whose sole aim is to improve the childhood of those children who care for a parent of a loved one. They are a fantastic charity and helped my family deal with the sudden changes in our lives. They helped give my sisters and I a new lease of life.
I will be running the London Marathon 2015 to help raise as much money as I can to help send these children on a holiday of a lifetime. This will be no mean feat but I can not stress how important this charity is to the lives of these children so anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated!
