For the past 12 years the SAHS Midnight Memory Walk has seen hundreds of people take to the streets of Newry under the stars to complete a 6KM walk through Midnight in memory of their loved ones. Every year this event is greatly supported by the local community, and last year raised over £22,000, which enabled the Hospice to continue providing their much-needed service. Due to Covid-19 this event couldn't go ahead as normal, and instead walkers are encouraged to complete their own virtual walk to support SAHS. As I complete my walk, whether it be in the daytime or at night, the Hospice nurses and staff will be working too.
