On the 29th of June last year we lost the most incredible person who gained their angel wings far too soon. My amazing friend Harvey suffered from Vascular Ehlers-Danlos (VEDS) syndrome, which tragically took his life suddenly at such a young age. It is coming up to my birthday and what would have been Harvey’s birthday. So I am doing a little fundraiser. Instead of any birthday gifts for my birthday please can you donate to this fundraiser instead in memory of Harvey. I’m also having my hair dyed red on the 12th of May and hosting a red coffee afternoon on Saturday the 14th of May with red themed drinks and cakes. Red was Harvey’s favourite colour and also the signature colour of the REDS4VEDS initiative. Funds will be going to such a worthy cause - to help improve research on VEDS in the hopes that others won’t suffer the same fate as Harvey. This is a special way to honour such a kind and inspirational person who is always greatly missed but holds a special place in our hearts. I truly appreciate any support xxx Thank you xxx

Annabelle's Challenge is the leading charity for vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome in the UK. At the heart of the charity is Annabelle, a brave little girl from Bury who is the inspiration behind our challenge to raise awareness and support for patients and families affected by vascular EDS. Vascular EDS is a life threatening connective tissue disorder that affects all tissues, arteries and internal organs making them extremely fragile. Patients are at risk of sudden arterial or organ rupture.
