We are a community working together to help young minds feels better

Story

On September 18th 2020 my good friend Rab completed the west highland way in record time. I said to him ‘I wonder if I could ride that?’  and of course in typical Rab style he said, ‘of course you can, gie it a go!’

We lost Rab in august 2022 and in his memory, me and a wee gang of pals are going to gie it a go and ride the route he took in three days ( not nine hours ) and hopefully raise a bit of money for the charity Tiny Changes.

I chose Tiny Changes not only because Rab was their ambassador but because it was a charity close to my brother in law Michael’s heart. We lost Michael to suicide in September 2021. It was completely unexpected, there were no signs and the loss has devastated my family and left two little boys without a daddy.

If only Michael had spoken about how he felt to all those close to him maybe he wouldn’t have made that decision.

Scott Hutchison, singer in the band Frightened Rabbit, died by suicide in May 2018. Since then, his family have been campaigning to improve mental health amongst children and young people in Scotland.Tiny Changes (SC049112) aims to further that cause by funding projects and events that support affected people and advance research, and also by raising awareness and influencing policy. There is a crisis in young people's mental health in Scotland and it is getting worse. The next generation needs your help now.
