Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page! I'm raising money for GMFA, the charity I volunteer for in my spare time.
I'll be taking part in the Red Run, a timed 10K run in Victoria Park in Hackney on Sunday 26 November, the weekend before World AIDS Day. It will only be the second time I've run 10K, and it will be something of a challenge for me, but I'm hoping to survive it and raise as much money as I can!
GMFA provides up-to-date and accessible sexual health information for gay men through its websites, campaigns, workshops, social media and online magazine FS. You can read more about its work at www.gmfa.org.uk. However GMFA now depends more heavily than ever on donations. Public health budgets for HIV prevention have been cut dramatically in recent years, and the UK now spends 50 times as much on HIV treatment than we spend on prevention.
I've been a volunteer for GMFA since 2004. GMFA is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and in addition to taking part in the Red Run I'm planning to organise a few small events for friends, and encourage everyone I know to make a donation. Thank you very much for your support!
