Story

Thanks for visiting my page.

I have never experienced a Haven's Hospice until a few weeks ago under the worst circumstances I could have ever imagined.

Lal's cancer caught us all by surprise and even more so by the speed with which his condition deteriorated and we surprisingly found ourselves spending days in a cold and drafty room at an nhs hospital waiting for the worst to happen, a situation that Lal himself would have been devastated to see, it was the exact scenario that Lal had talked about him not wanting.

Then the hospice came to see us and Lal was found a room at the Chalkwell Fairhavens Hospice where he was cared for far better and made much more comfortable in his final few days with us.

The difference in care not just for Lal but also for Pauline, my wife Adele and Michelle compared to the nhs was so remarkable, it left me with a overwhelming feeling of support for the service they provide and thus I am intending to try and complete my first 10k run in over 20 years with only 6 weeks to prepare.

The event is the Billericay Striders 10k Race on Sunday 6th November, starting at 9.45am. Please if you can come and provide support in person, I'd love to see you when I finally drag myself over that finish line and if you can please dig deep and donate now it would be even more appreciated.

Thanks ever so much and trust me it is an extremely worthwhile cause, please help us to keep the care for Cancer victims and there families far more human, it really helped us and if we can keep supporting them, many more families to come.
