Thank you all for your donations, triathlon completed in 1:52:45 a whole minute faster than last year. All I need to now is get the lake water out of my system yuk
This will be the fourth Triathlon that I have entered, in just as many years, every year they seem to get harder just as I get older! It is my 50th this coming September and I believe this year in particular will be a very big effort as for the last few months I have been quite unwell with a chest problem that I have not been able to throw off. Usually the Triathlon is high in my thoughts as we go through the winter months and I will always try to keep training ticking over but have not been able to do that this time.
Soo, as training has been out of question - and boy do I need to train - I'm starting to feel better this week so hopefully in the next few days I can start up again! The bike will be coming out of the shed, the trainers will be left by the door and a swim kit staring at me by the front door every time I go out. I will then have to find that odd hour before work, after work and certainly at weekends there will be no peace for the wicked! Due to a more sedentary lifestyle, lack of training and a love of good food, I am now a stone and half overweight and need to shift a few pounds. All good reasons then to do the competition again this year.
I decided to join the Banana Army (get to wear a big yellow T-Shirt) in order to inspire me and to raise Money for Leukemia and Lymphoma Research. Blood cancer is a horrific disease and were you aware 43,050 UK people are expected to develop leukemia in 2011? It has personally affected several friends and children of friends that I have known, some survived and some unfortunately some were not as lucky. Very sobering. Any money you donate will be greatly appreciated. if you wish to find out more please visit www.lls.org
