Story
In November 2016 my son became ill ,so we took him to our local doctors who told us it was viral infection and it would go, but a month later it had not gone and my son had lost weight and had no appetite, so we returned to the doctors and this time we was referred to a specialist and after lots of tests my son was diagnosed with a rare disease called Juvenile Dermatomyisistis or JDM.
At the end of January 2017 my son began taking medication for JDM and at first the medication seemed to be working, but unfortunately for my son it went internally and attacked his lungs , so we ended up at Great Ormand Street Hospital for just over six weeks , during that time my sons heart stopped twice , but he would not stop fighting which was just the kind of young man that he was, so hour after hour and day after day we stayed with our son but on the 2nd of June 2017 he lost his battle and sadly we had to say goodbye to our beautiful boy.
Because of the Sick Children`s Trust RAINBOW HOUSE giving us some where to stay and to cook and wash our clothes my wife and me and hundreds of other parents and families are able to stay 24/7 with their sick children ,this charity is self funded which is truly truly amazing so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give anything you can to help other families to be with their sick children .
love to you all Gary Lowings & family
