Story
Gary McLelland is running the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 27th May 2018 to raise money for an extremely important grants fund for humanist representatives from developing countries.
Gary is the chief executive of the International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU), so he knows first-hand the value of bringing humanists together to learn from one another, to explore all the various challenges and innovative approaches from around the world, and to participate in the IHEU’s unique democratic humanist union.
The International Humanist Trust (IHT) has agreed to work with IHEU to deliver on its mission of advancing humanism, by enabling more representatives from humanist organizations in developing countries to participate at international events and institutions.
IHEU says: “Because we work hard to ensure our events have lasting impact, we've seen that where we're able to bring the most diverse range of humanists together the benefits are multiplied for everyone. Grants awarded by IHEU are always carefully considered and accountable. We work side by side with our Member Organizations to ensure value for money and real results: connecting and growing the humanist movement everywhere.”
Your JustGiving sponsorship will be used to enable wider participation at international humanist events of representatives from humanist organizations in developing countries.
Please support Gary today, raising money for IHT, to get humanists from developing countries up and running as part of the global humanist movement.
