Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

        Stevie-lee  20/03/1998 - 28/09/2017

In 2017 we found ourselves as a family in unknown circumstances.  Our beautiful, caring and full of life son, made the decision to leave us and take his own life. This was a total shock to everyone who knew him  especially us as parents  We never thought for one minute or had a plan in place, if we lost one of our four children.

I have always wanted to cycle from Lands End to John O Groats from a young age. So what better reason to tackle the task by raising money and marking Stevie’s life. I plan to start the solo cycle  on the 28/09/2021 (Stevie’s 4th anniversary) and finish on/by the 19/10/2021.  I’m not a young chap so therefore this will not be a speedy journey but more about getting to the finish line!

I have chosen to raise funds for a amazing charity that work with family’s that have lost a child.  The funds raised will be set  aside for supporting family’s bereaved by Suicide. We as a family cannot thank the charity enough for the support and info given to us, from the start to this day. Myself and partner Su (Stevie’s Mum) have gained training by the charity to facilitate a local support group, however at this time, we are not strong enough to start our own local group but funds raised will be used to help the charity and  group facilitators  to continue their great work  in supporting families. I will be covering all my own expenses so that all money raised goes directly to the charity.

There is no worse feeling for a parent than having to arrange their child’s funeral especially when Suicide is involved, as we have no answer to why!

Please help us raise as much as we can for a great charity!
