Our son Charlie was diagnosed with leukaemia (ALL) 4 weeks ago aged 14 as you can imagine it was devastating news, throughout the last 4 weeks everyone at alder hey has been amazing doctors nurses even the chef the amount of work and people that are there to help not only Charlie but the family as well is phenomenal.

At the start of all this Charlie’s very vain 16 year old brother Lewis said dad if Charlie loses his hair I will shave mine off as well I had a wee lump in my throat but also was bursting with pride how have I managed to bring up such a thoughtful caring young man ? Well I have put it down to us being a team mum dad keiran Lewis Charlie and kyra team bud are going to smash this.

Unfortunately this last few days Charlie has started to lose his beautiful hair so true to his word Lewis is going to brave the shave but has asked if he could try and raise a little bit of money to help one of the charities that help children and there families going through the same as us. Again bursting with pride we have decided to support Chics a small charity who we met at alder hey who offer support and advice to not only the children but there families and are completely run by donations and volunteers.
