Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the shared JustGiving page for Andy Green and Gareth Maddison.
This year we're both taking up the challenge of a 24hr marathon open water swim. The challenge is simple, swim one mile on the hour every hour for twenty four hours. This is an open water event and will be swum in the Activities Away lake off the A46 bypass in Lincoln so along with battling fatigue & tiredness over the twenty four hours we'll have to deal with cold water and darkness to.
We're competing as a pair which means we'll be alternating our swims each hour. To put the challenge into context over the twenty four hour period we'll be swimming 38,616 meters or 1,544 lengths of your typical swimming pool - lots of training in the pool over the next few months needed!
The swim kicks off at 19:00 on Tuesday 21st June and the final mile will be completed between 18:00 and 19:00 on Wednesday 22nd. We're looking to raise as much money as possible for the Alzheimer's Research, this disease has affected people close to us and knowing we'll be funding the charities continued research would be great inspiration to us both.
Please donate if you can, we appreciate everything you can spare.
